Combined First Aid at Work and Paediatric First Aid Course

Course overview

The Level 3 First Aid Course is an advanced training program that equips participants with comprehensive knowledge and skills to respond effectively to medical emergencies in various settings. This course builds upon the foundational principles of first aid and covers advanced techniques for assessing, managing, and providing care to individuals in critical situations. Participants will learn how to handle complex injuries, medical conditions, and life-threatening emergencies. The Level 3 First Aid Course is suitable for individuals seeking a higher level of first aid training for professional or personal reasons.


Course Duration: 3-day course (approximately 18 hours)


Course Highlights:

- Review of basic first aid principles and legal considerations

- Primary and secondary surveys for assessing casualties

- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for adults, children, and infants

- Automated external defibrillator (AED) use and integration into CPR

- Recognition and management of airway and breathing emergencies

- Assessment and treatment of circulatory emergencies (shock, severe bleeding)

- Immobilisation and management of fractures, dislocations, and sprains

- Assessment and initial care for head and spinal injuries

- Management of common medical emergencies (asthma, seizures, diabetic emergencies)

- First aid for environmental emergencies (heat stroke, hypothermia)

- Documentation and reporting of incidents

- Practical hands-on exercises, simulations, and case studies

 Learners must be at least 14 years old on the first day of the training and be able to perform practical tasks at floor level. 


There are no other formal entry requirements but we strongly recommend that Learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.
