First Response Emergency Care (FREC 4)

Course overview

The Qualsafe Level 4 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care (FREC 4) (RQF) is a nationally recognised and regulated prehospital care qualification, ideal for those aiming to advance their careers within the NHS or private ambulance services.

This course is particularly suited for individuals pursuing roles such as Emergency Care Assistant, Intermediate Ambulance Practitioner, Event Medical Provider, Associate Practitioner, or Healthcare Assistant. It is also highly relevant for those seeking specialist positions within the military, police, security, or fire services.

Designed as the natural progression for learners who have already completed the Qualsafe Level 3 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care (RQF), this qualification meets the competencies outlined in the PHEM skills framework at descriptor level E. FREC 4 equips learners with the advanced knowledge and practical skills necessary to manage a wide range of emergency scenarios, including major incidents, fracture management, paediatric emergencies, mental health crises, and more.

Furthermore, this qualification forms part of a progressive series of prehospital care qualifications, details of which can be found at Qualsafe.org.
